i had read that somewhere before, however this uptime bug thing is only applicable to win95 and win98, later versions are not affected by it.

btw, i don't think that the newer versions are that bad, there are windows servers with uptime of months even YEARS!
see here http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/today/top.max.html number 26 is the only windows system in the whole chart. it's been running for more than 3.5 years (just imagine the lack of patches on that machine)
