A simple point is that windows is working a magnetic for viruses, so even if it is not a flaw in the design and the implementation , then the virus can do the job for you. Another point is that if you compare the uptime for linux and windos there you can see significant difference. If you are interested in security ,then don't use a bleding edge Linux version but use a stable one which proved in the last 3 years that has no problems.
