Hi.
I recently read an article about AspectJ and wanted to know if I/we
could use it for jos development. It's available for free, but the
license is cruel. I'm in contact with a person out of the team and
they're willing to change it.

AspectJ is an implementation of AOP done by Xerox' PARC, which extends
Java.
AspectJ adds aspects to objects. For example debugging could be an
aspect. With AspectJ you'd put this special aspect outside the object.
This makes code much more maintainable and objects much more OO.

I'm not sure about AOP, as nobody really is (AFAIK). It's still
researched, although it seams already very usable in particular
purposes.

What do you think?

Wiki:
   * AspectJ
   * AOP
