OK, I am willing to wait after you sorted out the problem.
At this stage it does not matter whether I use j.exe or j.jar.
In the mean time feel free to ask for any test you may like.
I thought of deinstalling and reinstalling Visual Studio, with particular
attention to error messages, but before I do I think you may need that I
make some tests on the machine in the state she his now. I will wait until
we have completed the tests. For the time being I dint' notice any problem
outside J.

I think it is a mistake to focus on 11!:0 as the source of the %0 1 2 3
damage. Lots of suff goes on with the windows without the direct
involvement of 11!:0. Let's see if the problem can be sorted out without
this level of detail.

No change. The problem is still there.
It becomes interesting. May be there are naked (11!:0) within J library.
You may try,
edit c:\j601\profile.ijs, add at the first line, adding
wd_z_=: 3 : 0
z=. 11!:0 y
'kernel32 CloseHandle % i i' 15!:0 [0
z
)
Then comment out the definition of wd inside winlib.ijs, and
search (using Find in Files) all occurrence of 11!:0 under J system and
replace them with wd.
HTH again
regards,
bill
