On all the Forum archives:
0) Suggestion; Post the actual list/group admnistrator EMail address ON that
web page.
Put up an alias at your ISP so the admin is standardized
[EMAIL PROTECTED])
SOme foks will not take the time to go hunt this down; you are likelyl
osing valid comments.
1) Maybe memory plays wrong: I thought I recalled the archives ony being
accessible once signed up.
2) Not so now on the new server.
3) The web page says members of the list are held private: but if the files
are made public:
Data mining wil extract them.
4) Suggestion: have the list server give an option to
a) allow the users to publish or not their email adress directly
b) disallow any traffic except through the actual Forum, or not
c) publish a through-the-list-server-only email address to allow private
side
traffic that can be turned off at jsoftware.com on request of user
or by admin decision.
5) Change your web page to warn people until that occurs: as a former list
admin,
I have seen fairly ugly sequences if the security is not put in place.
6) Publish the archives publically only with all email addresses forced
through the list server
(stale addresses should not be bounced acros the net).
Side security comment: I should have been signed up on all lists; but only
three come through (not chat).
Cheers.
