Thanks for the remarks to my previous query. I took the remarks to be "make the changes to conform to the J601 conventions", even if it means using less natural variable names. My previous remarks were a bit too optimistic because I had been confused and thought that by default the old names (x. etc) were still allowed by default. I was misled because fixargs.ijs changes the state so that the old spellings are allowed. Strange that the thing that "fixes" old arguemnts leaves J in that state.
Anyway, updating the addon was more interesting than I expected in a variety of ways, but I am now at the point that I think it wise to share. I know the image3 addon is not perfect, but my goal at this point just to have the same functionality as the old image3 under J601a. While I would expect those interested in the beta mostly to be old image3 users, for completeness let me say: The image3 addon for J5.04 is available from http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/Packages/Image3 If you want to use image3 under J601 at this point, you need the old version. If you want to see what image3 is all about, the help is on-line at http://ww2.lafayette.edu/~reiterc/j/image3help/index.html finally, the delta (ie, just the scripts and labs updated to J601) may be found at: http://ww2.lafayette.edu/~reiterc/j/image3_delta_beta.zip It is recomended that the addons be installed in '~addons/image3/' and new script and labs be installed on top of the J501 image addon at this point. So far tested under windows -- labs run and basic html/prevare stuff seems OK. If you try it out, let me know how it works out. Best, Cliff -- Clifford A.
