Subject: [Jgeneral] can J 5.04 and J 6.01a run on same platform ?
Regarding stable versions of J (Windows XP Professional, SP2)
Previously, I had installed J 5.04 in the folder C:\J504.
Recently, on the same platform, I have installed J 6.01a in the folder
C:\J601.
I can open both at the same time and step through the first lab
on both in pseudo-parallel mode (thanks to Alt+Tab and Ctrl+J).
From this, it appears that stable versions J 5.04 and J 6.01a can in
fact safely co-exist.
Regardless, this is obviously far too primitive a test to justify such
a conclusion.
QUESTIONS:
---------------
Is it safe to install multiple stable versions of J on one's computer?
Is it safe to simultaneously use multiple stable versions of J on
one's computer?
Thank you.
