I don't know about jobs, specifically, but phrases can be
useful in searching.  Good starting phrases for searching at
google (in other contexts) have included:

"j software"
"j programming"
"j programming language"
site:jsoftware.com

When I've successfully used search engines in the context of
J, I've spent quite a bit of time examining links, and constructed
derived searches that use other bits of context that seem to have
lead to promising searches.  Failing that, I'll use negative 
searches to exclude common "false hits".
