I decided to do some searching about J, and one page I found was:

Note that a number of the J specific links (includeing
http://www.jsoftware.com/resources.htm and
http://home1.gte.net/res057qw/APL_J/) are no longer valid.

On the flip side, valid links (both incoming and outgoing) are
an important part of what makes a search visible at google (for
example).

It seems to me that it would be a good strategy to ensure that
historic links remain valid.  Perhaps using redirects when pages
have been moved.

The advantage, here, is that people searching for J content --
whether through browsing or through a search engine -- would be
more likely to find it.
