I found SDERRORS in socket.ijs only applicable to window (perhaps darwin), but 
not linux,

eg,
window    10036 EINPROGRESS       10060 ETIMEDOUT
darwin    EINPROGRESS =: 36       ETIMEDOUT =: 60
linux     EINPROGRESS=: 115       ETIMEDOUT=: 110
