As I suspected, my construction was clumsy. Thank
you, Paul, for clarifying things.
As for why I used i. the answer is that I made a
beginner's mistake. I had cast about for the right
verb, and instead of the simple, perfect fit (=) I
tried i. (It seemed topically associated.) I could
tell that the result I got was backwards of what I
expected the right primary to return. Why didn't the
obvious verb come to mind, instead? Perhaps because I
have not yet spent enough hours coding APL/J to have
the natural things flow naturally.
