I have just created a new page on the wiki with 
http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/RicSherlock/Temp/JulianDay

That has some verbs for converting dates to and from Julian days that
may be of interest to you. I'll move it to Scripts/JulianDayDate as soon
as I work out how!!
