Doing minor violence to the math from which my inspiration arises, I'll
play along and offer:
i. integer ray
i: integer line
In fact, I like Ken's suggestion to use "iota" for i. as it leaves
"integers" for i: (I have noticed that I tend to pen i. using an iota,
which is one of the few aspects of APL retained from my early
exposure to it.) Another nice thing about the word "iota" is that
it is short and distinctive.
