I run into the same trouble (jconsole core dumped) after upgrading my debian-amd64 from etch(2007 stable ) to sid(unstable).It seems to be a readline problem because there is no problem when runing at batch mode such as jhp scripts.Just tried j602beta version and all are ok.Thank you very much.
