I do not have any problems asking personally.

If I can not figure it out I do ask if I am interested at all.

I know of several others who do not ask and do not dare to ask.

Some of them just give up.

We hardly ever see anyone sending in simple requests for help anymore as I
seem to remember that used to come to the forum.

Very often it are just the same people sending one-liner over and over again
about some technical issue.

I do not often see explanations what is going on and most of the time it is
not interesting.

It might be more interesting if there were occasional explanations.

I have a feeling it may be scaring beginners away.

Maybe the forums should be split into experts and beginners.
