I thought I would add a FAQ based on a recent
thread, but I have run into problems and have gotten cold
feet because there are likely many more issues that my
answer is not considering. The technical problem I ran into
is that it is not clear how to edit the FAQ page because it
seems to be a shell for several pages, and I don't know the
structure.

Also, I thought I would feel out the forum for ideas
about rewording and redacting my question/answer which I
show below. (The indented 1.s and a.s seem to be good for
creating an indented numeric list in the wiki.)

********Draft FAQ follows************

Title question:
Why do these not match -: , why are are they not equal = ,
or why do these match, etc?

Text answer:
There are a number of reasons seemingly identical pairs of
nouns may not match, or they may not match, including the
following.

 1. different text case: 'a' ~: 'A'
 1. different rank
  a. (scalar) 1 ~: (vector) ,1
  a. (vector) (<1 2 3) is ~: <,:1 2 3
 1. numeric is different from literal: 1 ~: '1'
 1. unicode has some duplicates that would not be equal
 1. dyadic = employs floating point tolerance
