Murray, you are acting as a total customer.  :)

The problem is, after reading you initial message twice,
it is still very vague as for what you are trying
to accomplish there.

So it is good to start with a good description of your
usecase and requirements, instead of concrete file names
and scripts. It just creates an impression that you are
doing too much micro-management and customization of
system scripts.

The goal of your configuration is 
 - be able to deploy J install and J user folders whereever you like
 - express what you need only in bin/profilex.ijs
and this should be attainable with j602.
