Some time ago someone mentioned Opentick in this forum. I now have J code to read info from Opentick; it took so long because until their latest beta Opentick missed too many trades to be reliable. But now it works, and works quite nicely: each trade has a timestamp, and I get almost all the trades within 1 second of the timestamp.
For me, this is an occasion to slay the fatted calf, because I no longer have to keep J5.04 around so that I can use it to run the DDE interface to my previous quote supplier; and Microsoft's DDE support was weak in Windows XP and completely broken in Vista. On top of that, the Opentick interface takes 6% of my year-2000 CPU, compared with 50% for the previous supplier; so my old machine has new legs. If anyone wants to try running Opentick, ask & I'll give you what I have.
