I have already set up profile for jconsole to ignore most gui stuff,
and edit a line in jzgrid 
(WDCOLORS)=: IFCONSOLE{:: (25 3$0) ;~ 0 ". wd 'qcolor ',"1 ": ,. i.25
 
then it run as what you had described.

Thank you for finding the workflow to use pacman in jconsole.  I have
update the svn repository for this change.  Please test if it also
work for you.

BTW, if you need running a long job on a remote linux box, you may
install the program "screen" which allow you detach the job after it
got started so that you could hang up the connection. (untested)
