Wow, impressive So what should I do with the pretty big red J sitting on My MacBook Pro desk top , just ignore it? Or is there a working start up J I can find and install? Or with my lack of computing skills just let things be and find it the hard way? thanks D Leibnitz: we should not have to work like slaves over calculations, to paraphrase we should not be slaving over installations. Or when you are in the swamp fighting alligators it is easy to forget.... The original idea was to spend time using J, not even learning it except as a neccessity thanks D ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sherlock, Ric" <[email protected]> Date: Friday, August 14, 2009 5:11 am Subject: Re: [Jgeneral] Installing on PocketPC (was Array Based Languages) To: General forum <[email protected]> > > From: Raul Miller > > > > On Fri, Aug 14, 2009 at 4:15 AM, DIETER > ENSSLEN<[email protected]>> wrote: > > > I find that incidentally, clicking on the pretty red J on my > > > MacBook Pro desk top does nothing except flash. > > > > I believe the red icon installs J and the blue icon runs J. > > > > See: > http://www.jsoftware.com/help/user/install.htm > > The red icon starts Jwdp (the portable version of the J IDE). > The red icon is available on all desktop platforms > (Linux/Mac/Windows) but is not installed by default on Windows. > > The blue icon starts Jwdw and is only available on Windows. > > The gray icon starts Jconsole and is available on all platforms > except PocketPC. > > The yellow icon interrupts a running J program. > > ----------------------------------------------------------------- > ----- > For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
