I have a new MBP running Leopard 10.5.8. I went into
/Applications/Utilities/Java Preferences.
If I choose either Java SE 6 64-bit or J2SE 5.0 64-bit to be the first under
'Java Applications', I get the same error you do when I try to run J602.

It appears J602 is not compatible with either 64-bit Java currently
available on OS X.

If I choose J2SE 5.0 32-bit, J602 launches without error.
