The downside being that you must always be connected to the internet or some network.
The gtk gui and the J engine should, __theoretically__, run on the n900 with minimal effort since it is just a computer running linux. If you do decide to do any ports in the future, I second the notion that a Linux/ARM port should be given top priority due to the enormous number of devices that is/will be running this platform.
