In J701 profilex.ijs it says "home is HOME." But what is HOME? In a J session, none of HOME, HOME_j_, home, home__j_ have values.
How is one supposed to change HOME (hence home) if it doesn't say what it is?? In Windows (XP), I have environment variables HOME, HOMEDRIVE, HOMEPATH, JHOME. Is it one of these? How is one supposed to know? And if one of those, how access the environment variable's value? Where is this all documented? There seems to be zero docs as part of the downloaded installer -- except for the built-in J help which, of course, one would not access until AFTER the installation is configured. Basically, my problem is the usual one: - I chose the Custom option when installing, to allow installing the J system where _I_ want it. - I want to choose a non-default location for the juser tree, NOT C:\Documents and settings\murray\j701-user. And why can't the user be asked for the location of the juser directory? -- Murray Eisenberg [email protected] Mathematics & Statistics Dept.
