With J701 jhs and jijx open in Firefox 3.6.13 under Windows XP,
opening a new tab does NOT cause jijx to appear there.

Usually, I just open a new tab. This usually results in a copy of the
jijx environment on the browsers I have used. Then I navigate as I wish
on that tab, switching back to the original tab when I want to go back
to jijx. I really like having multiple tabs open for different files and
environments on JHS because it can allow cut and pasting as well as
comparisons of code. Hope this is what you were looking for. Cheers, bob
