I am getting some very large integers from simple computations on single-digit numbers, or at least in the reporting of them--they are not consistent.
Problems occur with either the browser interface (using Firefox) or jconsole on Macintosh OS 10.6.6. JVERSION Engine: j701/2011-01-10/11:25 Library: 7.01.040 Platform: Darwin 32 Installer: j701a_mac_intel.dmg InstallPath: /Applications/j701 I reloaded the system, without trying to uninstall anything. Before this problem became so persistent, I was experiencing puzzling run errors on lines in which I had made insertions--often "cured" by copying and replacing the line as a whole. Any suggestions?
