Bill, thanks. This reply is for the benefit of other users (like myself)
new to the mysteries of J and Win7 directory use.

As far as my (re)searches have taken me, Program Files" and "Program Files
(x86)" is a difference without much distinction (except where some apps
might expect to find their sub-parts). Nevertheless, I zapped the
installation of J and reran j701a_win64.exe as administrator (needed to
write files into either Program Files directory). When I got to this box

      Install: Jsoftware j64-701

o Standard home folder - single user
                [C:\Users\{username}\j64-701]

o System Program Files folder - multiple users
                [C:\Program Files (x86)\j64-701]

o Custom browse to folder - single user
                [{file browser window}]

I chose Custom and installed to ""Program Files". It seems (so far) to
work fine.

What is the difference (aside from directories) between a "single user"
and "multiple user" install of 704?

Thanks for your help.
