Which version of J and Jplot do you test? I greped and can only find glsave inside the package platimg. the gtk output in j7 plot can save plot as an image file or print to printer, if I remember correctly. Please see jwiki documentation for usage.
You can directly produce a png with the new cairo/png output in JHS/JPLOT.
