Since my iMac has both an SSD startup drive and an HD, my own OS X user folder is on the latter. That should not affect anything for J. At least it doesn't affect any other program. And it doesn't affect jpath correctly identifying my OS X user folder, or doing file writes and reads directly by my executing file operations from within J.
Is there some way of seeing what happens during the startup sequence for JHS -- some log of operations? Because clearly something is wrong. And just to be sure: I did type the correct thing for PC_FONTSIZE_jhs_=:'22px' didn't I? Should manually executing that statement in the jijx browser window change the font size immediately, or even for subsequent input/output at that session? It does NOT!
