Why is it that every application/package I find that would support the

management of an ISO9001:2000 quality management system (document control, corrective action tracking, forms management, process

(The one I did find that didn't require Windows was a hosted
environment that, while it sounded OK from what I read, still would
put our critical business data in the hands of a third party -- not
something I'm real keen on...).

ISO9001:2000 is an *INTERNATIONAL STANDARD*, why is every software package I find written for an O/S that has thumbed it's nose at standards (that are not MS-standards) for the past 20 years?

Aaaarrrrrggghhh!

Tim,

What is it you need? Where can I find this standard? I would start a
project to do this immediately, but I need guidelines.

Some software sites I've been checking:
http://www.tiptech.com/ (recommended by a customer of ours)
http://www.reliasoft.com/enterprise/fracas.htm
http://www.assurx.com/solutions.html
http://www.relexsoftware.com/
http://www.lynksoftware.com/

Since I'd posted my original mail, I ran across a company that looks interesting:
http://www.saberlogic.com/index.html
who claims to have an "open source" package written in PHP. The mod_qms module, http://www.saberlogic.com/mod_qms.php, looks particularly interesting.

But there realy is a dearth of choices for linux/unix-based solutions.

FWIW, I just got a response from the Lynk Software sales droid:
"While we do not have plans to move to any of the Unix platforms, the Everest Client/Server version will run on a Windows 2000 server without IIS. It is a fully web enabled windows app and is a solid alternative. We currently have users running world wide with this version.

The Everest Client/Server application is extremely robust and very reliable. It is a great alternative for anyone looking for customer complaint management software."

I cringe at the thought of a "fully web enabled windows app."

My immediate interest is for something that will create/track and manage Corrective Action Requests.

Tim
