Amazing what people will believe (the article -which generally condemns
the idea, iiuic- mentions a couple of other things), isn't it?
I suppose it's a very American thing to make the most of adversity. So when 9/11 did happen you all try to make the best of a bad situation causing outside observers to claim that you created the situation simply to profit from it as the TV show seems to suggest.

It says alot for the America character that these disasters cause them to go from strength to strength instead of shrinking back.

However I still think some American tourists are loud and annoying :)
