Lonnie,
We have had it rain yesterday and lastnight. However it is not the sort
of rain we need, its the light English style stuff which will turn the
grass green but so nothing else. Its so dry in the catchment areas that
it gets soaked up and there is no run-off. In Queensland the motto about
the wether has been: Magnificent one day Perfect the next. Great for
tourism but the natives, like me are dessicating.
On another note, I think that this thread has done its dash, when I
started it was supposed to be informative as to our situatio. News wise
we seem not to broadcast our plight, sheer aussie "she'll be right mate"
attitude. I should have been aware that in the past I have occasionally
chucked the hat in the ring, only to get a plethora of relies which
eventually rolls off the rails, and splinters into something else.
So to all concerned and those good enough to reply, many thanks but lets
drop it before we annoy Douglas, and wake the sleeping Giant :)
BTW i'll let the list know if we do get rain like Katrina dumped. We are
all well aware there of their plight but wish we had it instead.
