I would like to announce that our online survey and voting application called ‘surv n vote’ is ready to be used. Survnvote is a FREE Audience Response System (ARS) for surveys and voting using the web, sms and mobile devices (PDA or smart phone). When a user participates using a mobile phone (currently they're using their browser but later on, a user can directly dial the relevant number), there is no charge on the user's side. The key features of Survnvote is as follows : 1. providing instant survey/voting result 2. analysis of statistical results 3. capable to handle complex mathematical equations for the survey/voting 4. exporting the output to cvs/xls format 5. mobile skin (browsable in any type of mobile phones) 6. embedding into Power point (during presentation) 7. crowd users (guarantee 'one man one vote' for a user multiple registrations by email, phone or sms) 8. sms confirmation for first time registration using mobile phone. Survnvote provides simple survey (single questionnaire), questionnaire (multiple questionnaires) and quiz (surveyor gives answer before the survey is started). When it's used in the education environment, such as in a class-room, Survnvote can be used to evaluate students' understanding during a lecture by posing question(s) to the students and the lecturer can get immediate feedback and results. Students can vote using their mobile phone without any charge. Survnvote can increase student participation and interactivity in the class. We plan to promote to all IPTAs to use this product in their class-rooms when the 100 phone lines come in to the systems. All tools used in developing Survnvote are Open Source Sofware (OSS). Survnvote's application and codes are free to be used and distributed under GNU General Public License. The code is available and can be downloaded at http://www.survnvote.net.
