Once the the target IP is known, the user space daemon attempts to login into the target, here iser comes into play and we connect through the rdma cm

OK, just to clarify, the iscsi target discovery resolves both the IP and the PORT used by the target. Where the port is mapped to IB SID in both sides (the listening target and the connecting initiator).
