That's unfortunate.  Setting up loopback connections does work at
least with IB adapters (not sure about nes, don't have HW yet), so yes
this needs to be something that fails specifically for cxgb3.

Have you ever thought about a SW rdma loopback device?  (call me crazy :)

I mean, can linux map memory from one process to another to do direct copies of data for rdma read/write operations?
