Hi,
I am a linux newbie and I am trying to run ipoib on linux Centos 5.3.
My software driver does not recognize the hardware even though it is
connected.
1. I am using the following infiniband HCA
$ my prompt> lspci |grep Mellanox
01:00.0 InfiniBand: Mellanox Technologies MT25208 InfiniHost III Ex
(Tavor compatibility mode) (rev a0)
2. I installed the infiniband utilities using ---> yum groupinstall
'OpenFabrics Enterprise Distribution'
3. I then started the driver in this way -->
[r...@localhost ]# /etc/init.d/openibd start
Loading OpenIB kernel modules: [ OK ]
[r...@localhost ]# ibv_devinfo
libibverbs: Warning: no userspace device-specific driver found for
/sys/class/infiniband_verbs/uverbs0
No IB devices found
As you can see it says No IB devices found. I am able to detect the
hardware using Windows, however I am not able to detect the same using
Linux. Please guide me as to what I can do.
Please send output of /var/log/messages
Also output of lsmod to see which modules are loaded
4. One more Question, As I dug into to the release notes, I find that
Centos 5.3 is not supported in the distribution of OFED-1.4. Is this
correct? Does this mean I have to downgrade to centos 5.2?
5. What could be the time frame by which Centos 5.3 is also supported?
Which OFED version are you using?
We added RHEL 5.3 support in OFED 1.4.1, and usually when things works
on it then it will work on CenOS too. Its just that CentOS 5.3 was not
tested but it should work.
