That is IMHO a 'client' issue, and the reason why I want the public key in the 
index (to search for those I trust) and that bundles are signed with the 
corresponding private key.

I don't think that would be out of the question, if it was for Java at large. 
Also, isn't the delay related to whether you "help" them on the way?? News 
seems to be out much faster than my almost non-linked pages.

Yes, I agree about that. I just mentioned Maven repositories could be 
easily "upgraded" to a minimum level with little or no effort, even without 
Maven folks co-operating.
