Alin, you are right. It is set when the framework starts up. However, the thing is that I am only using pax runner for provisioning (as a means to collect the bundles and create my system platform). That is, I am executing it with the "--executor=noop" option. Therefore, when I start the framework (without pax runner) the property is not there. So I guess it was a misunderstanding on my part after all.
