In my view in your setup you are not using Maven central directly but by
mirror/proxy on http://bjarne.pats.no:8081/artifactory/repo/ (checkout your
settings.xml). And this artifactory proxy is having somehow an error related to
log4j artifact. Just click this link:
http://bjarne.pats.no:8081/artifactory/repo/org/ops4j/pax/logging/pax-logging-api/1.4/pax-logging-api-1.4.jar
to see the error.
If you would go directly to Maven central you will not have this problem.
