The Link Niclas provided should give you good inside in what options are available (to all supported frameworks, not just Felix!)

Clearly, Pax Runner does a lot more, but the Felix launcher will work with all R4.2 compliant frameworks, not just the Felix framework.

    java -classpath equinox.jar:felix.jar org.apache.felix.main.Main

Works just fine.
