You should configure your signature in the ~/.m2/settings.xml
<profiles>
<profile>
<id>release</id>
<properties>
<gpg.passphrase>xxx</gpg.passphrase>
<gpg.keyname>xxx</gpg.keyname>
</properties>
</profile>
</profiles>
This way, I never have to enter the key again ...
But usually, you don't have to re-roll for that, re-running mvn
release:perform after a failed attempt should work without redo a
release:prepare again.
