I'd say the first part of your statement is no longer true with OSGi 4.3
and its Weaving Hook Service.
I haven't implemented any hooks myself, but I've seen them work in my
tests with Aries and OpenJPA where you no longer have to manually
pollute your persistence bundle imports with OpenJPA packages.
Maybe this is also an option for Pax Wicket.
Weaving Hooks are supported in Equinox 3.7.0 or better - I don't know
about Felix and others.
