Hi,

I am working on Tizen porting to IMX53 (ARM) platform, and got stuck. Please check the below issue and let me know if any one can help.

I am interested first to run the  Tizen without any HW acceleration. We have started with the built images from this link and created rootfs.
http://download.tizen.org/snapshots/1.0/latest/images/lb/

I have started with the Linux BSP release (for imx53) based on 2.6.35 kernel (which is closest to the Tizen kernel).
After few modifications in the init scripts, we got the basic boot running means got the Tizen boot animation run but got the following issues.
  • home screen/menu launcher comes up and crashes.
  • Got the bash shell running, we tried to launch the apps from the shell, but could run only some apps like "browser" but not fully functional, we could see some screens run but it doesn't take touch screen inputs, this seems due to OpenGL-CreateWindow failures from the logs.
  • We also see some file creation errors (some DB files I think) while running the browser app.

1) Please provide your inputs if we are going in the right path, OR how to proceed running Tizen?

2) Can you confirm, if the built images can work on any ARM platform with software-x11 (without HW acceleration)?
3) The following opengl packages work as software version of implementation? So these can work on any ARM platform? Please clarify.

opengl-es-0.1.1-1.2.src.rpm
opengl-es-virtual-drv-0.2.0-1.3.src.rpm
4) Are there any kernel changes for Tizen, apart from SDB? How do I get the Tizen patches from the standard linux-2.6.36?

Looking forward for help.

Venkat
