I’d need to investigate a bit more but I can see two paths to investigate:
- Make sure the security settings (i.e. labels on the modules) are the same as
for the other modules (ls –Z will tell you what these settings are, e.g. “_” or
“*” or something else)
- We may also need to create a udev rule to automatically load this when the
platform boots up.

Have you also tried with the r8169 driver that is readily available as a module?

Thanks,
Geoffroy

Dear Geoffroy,

Yes sure. I did compile and install the r8168 driver for my network card.

And it works fine.

But the problem is I need to depmod and lsmod everytime when I reboot.

So I want it to be done automatically whenever I reboot my nuc

Best regards ☺

Subject: [Tizen General] Install Network Driver

Hi, everyone.

I just solved the previous question by myself.

Now I have a network driver compiled in tizen, and I wanna install it to the
Tizen and tell the initrd.

But I can’t find initrd in the tizen.

Anybody can tell me how to install the network driver In tizen?
As far as I remember it should be sufficient to compile and install it in the
right place. Make sure you also run ‘depmod –a’ (as root) after the
installation. The other thing you _may_ need to check are the permissions/label
of your new driver (ls –Z) to make sure it’s the same as the other ones in the
system.

Having said that, the r8169 (that should also be able to control the Realtek
8168) is available as a module. Have you tried loading it manually? That would
save you having to download/compile/install this other driver.

Cheers,
Geoffroy
