I don't have any experience, but I too would love to hear from anyone
who has.
ZFS and Lucene are both "write once" under the hood, and they inherit
common transactional features as a result. EG it's trivial and
efficient to have multiple snapshots in ZFS, just like keeping
multiple commits in Lucene (with a custom deletion policy).
