I'm currently re-building mySQL to bring it up to date.

Unfortunately, rolling back to the config I had before the weekend is
[currently] not possible, although it may get better once I've finished the
compile. The database is currently down for the count, and I'm trying to get
it back up again as quickly as possible.

If I'm still getting the same problem, I'll re-compile mnogo and run a
backtrace.
