OS: SMP Linux (use a raid cluster for the dataset)
Database: Oracle or Postgres, mysql is too flaky at multi-gigabyte DB'S (I use ISM
tables, so other table types might be better, anyone know???)
-Use mnogo Cache-Mode for words.
-have LOTS of ram (>1GB for large DB'S)
and obviously: Compiling you own mysql client/server libraries may increase
performance by as much as 10%, it did for me:)
