These tests include:
a) Impact Test
b) Tension Test
c) Bend Test

5- N. D. T. Requirement Plate shall be ultrasonically examined 100 % to check flaws
cracks, inclusions, pin holes, dents,
pits, pecks etc. according to ASTM A435. The test certificate should be provided to
duly sign by Q.A Manager.

6- Heat Treatment Heat treatment shall be accordance with supplementary requirement as
per S 8.1 which states that the
manufacturer shall furnish a detailed test report containing the information required
on Sec 14 and shall include all
pertinent details of heat treating cycle given the forgings.

7- Product Analysis Product analysis shall be in accordance with requirement as per
section 7 of SA 266 and with
supplementary requirement as per S 7. Methods E 30 and E 350 shall be used.

8- Hardness Test Hardness test shall be carried out as per supplementary requirement
S 10 and brinell hardness limit shall be within 156-207.

9- Magnetic Particle Examination Magnetic particle examination shall be carried out
according to supplementary requirement
S 4 with method/particle A 275.

10- Macro etch Test Macro etch test shall be carried out in accordance with
supplementary requirement and as per particle E
381.

11- Test for Grain Size Grain size shall be checked in accordance with E 122.

12- Quality Assurance & Inspection
i. The manufacturer shall supply the material strictly in accordance with mechanical
/ chemical requirement as
stipulated in clause 2 & 3.
ii. The manufacturer shall ensure high standard of quality for the material.
iii. The manufacturer shall ensure that material shall be free from injurious surface
defects & edge imperfections etc.
iv. The manufacturer shall be responsible for the performance of all inspection and
test requirement as specified.
v. The manufacturer shall supply all the necessary test certificates and inspection
reports stating that the material has
been sampled, tested & inspected in accordance with the codes and standard as
specified.
vi. In case the specimen fails to conform to requirement of this specification then we
have the right to reject the
material without any obligation.
vii. Manufacturer shall be responsible for providing all necessary facilities to our
inspector free of cost.
viii. The manufacturer shall ensure that the inspector should inspect or witness the
inspection of material
ix. The manufacturer shall inform well in advance about the programme for the
inspection of material.
x. The manufacturer shall provide the documents pertaining to each & every test to our
inspector and also with the
consignment duly signed by Q.A. Manager.

13- Identification The name or brand of the manufacturer, heat and slab No. and
specification No., and grade , class and
type as indicate in material specification shall be legibly steel die stamped on the
periphery i.e. on 140 mm thickness and
not on the surfaces (top or bottom).
14- Packing and Loading for shipment The plate shall be properly secured by in a
wooden crate to avoid damaged during
loading and unloading.
