Even without the pipe the result of the indexer is the same. I cannot use alias because I have in my alias path some 'special caracter' as '?' and '-' and I need to cut the end of the url (e.g. file:/data/filename.doc as to be transformed in something http://site/data/function.pcg?item_id=number and the number is given by a funcion in the external program.
my alias prog is now something like Aliasprog "/usr/bin/pathconvert $1" and pathconvert gives the correct alias on the stdout with a new line.
