Hello.
Here are steps to start searching.
1. You should have search template.
You can use Wizard to create one:
a. Start Wisard, go to the "Search template" step
b. Choose path where to store template and "Create new"
c. "Adjust"
2. Make sure your template is in list
Indexer / Search tab / Templates
your template shold be in list with ID=0 (default template)
3. Check path to search.exe in the same tab.
That should be enough to start searching.
