Author: Tim Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message: I'm running in a FreeVSD virtual server environment, and I have a problem that I think can be resolved with an Alias command, but I'm not able to work it out.
My server is at http://www.mydomain.com, however FreeVSD maps this behind my back to http://www.mydomain.com:8080. When I am running indexer, I need to index everything off port 8080. My URLs however are all :80 (defaulted), and this mapping is done behind the scenes. For instance, if I run lynx on my local computer, I have to add port 8080 to my URLs, however if you come to my site from outside my server, you don't add 8080 - it uses port 80. I also have a bunch of subdomains, all linked to my main URLs index.html file in one way or another, so I would like to have one alias command that mapped all the URLs from the default port 80 to 8080. I'm not able to come up with any combination that works for me. Any suggestions?
